The number of Russians with three or more loans increased by 20% during the year, reaching 13.2 million people as of June 1, 2024. The Central Bank of Russia reported this in its report. review.
According to the regulator, the share of such borrowers in the retail loan portfolio increased from 46% to 51% in the period to 1 July 2024. Its total debts reached 19 trillion rubles, and its total retail portfolio reached 37.2 trillion rubles.
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation notes that the average debt of borrowers varies depending on the number of loans: 452 thousand rubles for one loan, 795 thousand rubles for two loans and 1.4 million rubles for three or more loans.
There is also an increase in debt levels in the microfinance institutions (MFOs) segment. The share of borrowers with two or more MFO loans increased from 34.2% to 38.8% in the period to July 1, 2024. At the same time, the average debt of an MFO borrower increased from 42.3 thousand to 51.7 thousand rubles.
