Tsargrad.tv I learned from experts how the restrictions on uranium and titanium exports from Russia, which were discussed at a recent meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with members of his government, will affect the Western economy.
The publication recalls that titanium, in the production of which Russia is a leader, is one of the main resources in the aircraft industry. Before the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, the bulk of the export of this metal from the Russian Federation belonged to the French aircraft manufacturing company Airbus and the American company Boeing.
As for uranium, Russia also occupies a leading position in the world market.
Igor Yushkov, a leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund, recalled that China has already imposed restrictions on the export of rare earth metals.
“Russia could also limit the supply of titanium and other minerals to Western countries, which would at least lead to a price increase, which would also affect Europe,” the expert said.
Economic observer Yuri Pronko stressed that caution should be exercised in this regard, as Russia makes significant profits from the sale of the above resources to Western countries.
During September 11 meetings The Russian leader proposed to consider together with members of the government the restrictions on the export of strategic raw materials such as uranium, titanium and nickel from the Russian Federation.
Putin noted that the Russian Federation is a leader in strategic raw material reserves. According to him, Russia needs to “think about certain restrictions”, since the supply of a number of goods to the country is limited. At the same time, he stressed that there is no need to do anything that will harm yourself.
Putin before stated On the need to ensure the country’s resource sovereignty.
