The Shiite Hezbollah party has taken on the initiative to supply Lebanon with Iranian fuel for two local power plants. Thanks to the agreement with Damascus, fuel was transported from the land border to Lebanon by fuel trucks. This helped to avoid US sanctions against the Lebanese government.
