In Nizhny Novgorod, registration has begun at School 21, implemented by Sber in partnership with the regional government. This was reported by the bank’s press service.
As noted by Alexander Anashchenko, Chairman of Sberbank’s Volga-Vyatka Bank, the Nizhny Novgorod region is a unique region where the government and the governor personally systematically bring together leading technology companies, startups and educational projects to create a world-class IT center.
“We are happy to be implementing such a project together for local residents and talented young people who can acquire a sought-after specialization and work in their hometown. School 21 graduates become programmers, development engineers, IT project managers, analysts and developers. Moreover, many of them receive job offers while they are still students,” he said.
According to the regional governor Gleb Nikitin, IT is becoming the locomotive of the economy of the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to him, since 2018 the share of the IT sector in the GRP has increased to 5 percent.
“Having professional staff is extremely important for Nizhny. We are building a modern educational ecosystem in the field of IT. School 21 is an important element of this ecosystem. It will be implemented at the highest level,” he said.
It was noted that the final selection phase for admission to School 21 will begin in December 2024. Approximately 200 participants will be able to participate.
Those who pass the final qualification stage will enter the foundation training where they will acquire the skills and competencies necessary for a successful career in IT. Over 1.5-3 years, they will learn the programming languages C, C++, Java, C#, Python and Go, and will also develop DevOps, database and networking skills.
