The head of the state corporation Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev, said at the session “The Northern Sea Route and logistics opportunities” as part of the IX Eastern Economic Forum that sanctions pressure is slowing down the growth rate of transport along the Northern Sea Route.
“The incredible number of restrictions and limitations placed on Arctic projects underscores the demand for this region,” he said.
According to him, the development of its lands is a priority for every state.
“Those who do not develop their lands will be developed by another state. There is no alternative to discussion here; this is our territory,” Likhachev said.
He added that Rosatom is exploring possibilities for participation in Vietnam’s Northern Sea Route projects.
