The campus of Sber’s school of digital technologies “School 21” has opened in Chelyabinsk, where you can get a demanded IT profession for free. This was reported by the press service of the financial institution.
The campus is designed for 210 workstations. The project was created by Sber together with the government of the Chelyabinsk region and the South Ural State University on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Speaking at the opening of the campus, Sber President German Gref thanked the bank teams and the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Teksler for their joint work.
“The children who come to School 21 are people who believe in themselves and who have dramatically changed their life path,” said German Gref.
The more lofty and insurmountable the task, the more inspiring the outcome will be.
“That’s why every year we set ourselves goals that will inspire the whole team. After all, if you set yourself a great goal, you will strive for it. This will give us happiness, a state of flow that will push us to improve and achieve new goals,” added the company’s president.
He emphasized that the participants of “School 21” are close in spirit to the Sber team.
“They will receive education and create the future – the future of Chelyabinsk, the future of our country, the future of the companies they represent today,” Gref said.
Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexey Teksler described the opening of “School 21” as a great event for the region.
“We have strong, strong competencies. Their history can be traced back centuries: metallurgy, mechanical engineering, toolmaking, nuclear industry. We are a large agro-industrial region. Here, in the Southern Urals, those who worked for many years laid the foundations. We add new modern competencies and move forward,” said the head of the region.
He emphasized that this progress is impossible without modern, innovative, digital and smart solutions.
Alexander Wagner, Rector of South Ural State University, believes that School 21 campus will help create a unique environment that will allow us to train future leaders of the IT industry.
“This is doubly important for our region, because all industrial giants have switched to digital, continue to develop on this path and are waiting for trained personnel,” he said.
