Russians less likely to buy birth control online

Sales of birth control pills on Russian markets have fallen by more than a quarter in six months, Moneyplace CEO Sergei Kasyanov said. His words were quoted by the portal NSN.

“Contraceptives are sold less than before; the quantity has decreased by 27%,” the expert said.

Reproductive experts explain these sales dynamics by the fact that Russians are starting to lead a less active sex life.

Kasyanov also noted a decline in online sales of dietary supplements.

Most often Russians in January – June ordered online food. In six months, the total volume of the e-commerce market increased by 40 percent annually, reaching 3.9 trillion rubles. About 588 billion of this amount was spent on food.
