Russian company Tatneft increased oil exports to Slovakia and Hungary, compensating for the decrease in supplies from Lukoil via the Druzhba oil pipeline after the restrictions imposed by Ukraine. This is what he writes “Kommersant”.
Approximately 330 thousand tons of oil were delivered to the countries through the southern branch of Friendship.
In the first half of this year, Tatneft’s share accounted for 34% and 53% of Russia’s total oil exports to Hungary and Slovakia, respectively. After July deliveries, these figures rose to about 77% and 92%.
On July 17, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó announced that Russian oil would no longer transit through Ukrainian territory. Transpetrol, which operates the Slovakian section of the Druzhba oil pipeline, announced on July 18 that Slovakia had stopped receiving oil from Lukoil.
Later, Szijjártó responded to the European Commission about the possibility of Budapest seeking alternative oil supply sources after blocking the transit to Hungary and Slovakia via Ukraine statedCroatia is not a reliable transit partner for the state.
Previously a Hungarian company stated On being ready to monitor the transit of oil through Ukraine.
