The Freedom Bank of Kazakhstan temporarily stopped making transfers through the Zolotaya Korona system. The publication writes about this Frank Media.
The bank requested additional information from the service to analyze the situation and make further decisions. The timing of the system restart has not yet been determined. Similar disruptions were observed in the work of CenterCredit Bank and Georgian financial institutions. This was due to the control of communication with sanctioned persons after the US introduced a new package of restrictions on August 23.
The developer of the Golden Crown mobile application, the Center for Financial Technologies (CFT), was sanctioned. CFT is affiliated with the system operator RNKO “Payment Center”.
“The bank is waiting for additional information from this partner to conduct an analysis, the results of which will determine further steps,” Freedom Bank’s press service said.
The Golden Crown plays a significant role in international transfers in Kazakhstan. In June, 65.7 billion tenge (≈12 billion rubles) were sent abroad this way, which accounts for 90% of all international transfers from the country.
The day before, it became known that Kazakhstan Citibank will stop operations with ruble accounts and conversion into Russian currency from September 24. Customers are advised to close their accounts and transfer contracts to other banks before this date.
Previously in Turkey Approved Problems continued with transfers to Russia.
