Yandex Market has changed its strategy of working with product cards, abandoning public cards and delegating full management of product content to sellers. This was reported by the press service of the e-commerce platform.
This decision was preceded by a survey conducted by Yandex Market analysts with more than a thousand entrepreneurs trading on the markets.
According to the survey, 71% of entrepreneurs on marketplaces are aware of the impact of high-quality content about a product on sales. Almost half of online sellers (43%) believe that such materials increase sales of any product. A quarter of respondents (28%) are sure that photos, descriptions and cards play a decisive role only in conditions of intense competition.
It also turns out that 40% of sellers do all the work related to content themselves. 60% of sellers delegate this task to experts (designers, photographers, marketplace managers).
According to the company, the average seller spends from 5,100 to 6,900 rubles on creating content for one card, according to Anton Artemov, head of the content department of Yandex Market.
According to him, adding a new product to a service and managing the content related to that product should be as simple and inexpensive as possible for the seller.
“To do this, we provide tools for reusing previously created content: downloading in a few clicks, automatic updating and transferring or using a file based on a template from another site, as well as working with 1C and Bitrix modules,” Artemov said.
He also reminded that you can create product descriptions and images for free using YandexGPT and YandexArt in the Market.
The company reported that the Marketplace has changed its approach to content management to meet the needs of sellers.
All sellers selling on the platform now have their own product cards; the marketplace has stopped combining content from different suppliers into a common card.
Sellers will determine the product category, change the description and name, fill in the specifications, add or delete photos, and much more at their own discretion.
The company said that thanks to the update, partners will be able to increase sales of their own products only.
