At the end of July, the Russian Federation ranked sixth among the main suppliers of copper to the Chinese market, followed by the Republic of Congo with $1.3 billion.
Japan and Chile also rounded out the top three with $490 million and $432 million respectively. Zambia ($369 million) and the US ($338 million) rounded out the top five.
In the first seven months alone, China purchased $1.5 billion worth of Russian copper. By the end of last year, the volume of such supplies had reached $3.2 billion.
