Despite Western sanctions, Russian oil continues to be actively purchased and this will not change in the future. He said that the supply has not decreased thanks to Eastern markets RIA Novosti Gennady Shmal, President of the Russian Association of Oil and Gas Industrialists.
The expert stressed that after the introduction of restrictions, export volumes of Russian oil remained at the same level.
“As for oil, we are selling as much as we were selling, because now we were able to quickly turn to the east, to China, India and Turkey, where most of the Russian oil goes,” Shmal said. The expert explained that the demand for Russian oil remains high despite all the Western bans.
He also stated that the ceiling on Russian oil prices of $60 per barrel does not work and has effectively failed. Although Russia sells its oil at a certain discount, the average price is above the ceiling and fluctuates between $65-70.
