More than 60% of new building starts in “old” Moscow occur in the centre, east and west. This is stated in the study by Metrium and Regions Development (available from socialbites.ca).
21 housing construction projects were launched in the center, 11 in the east and 11 in the west. According to equity participation agreements, these areas of Moscow account for 30.1% of all transactions. At the same time, these districts are becoming increasingly popular with buyers.
“Together, the center, east and west account for 44.6 percent of the total supply in the capital. At the same time, the share of these districts in the new construction exhibition opened last year is almost 17 points higher. The center and west are traditionally the most prestigious areas of the metropolis, but buyers’ attention is actively shifting to promising new areas. For example, on the territory of the Eastern District in the historical Preobrazhenskoye district, a modern and premium location with serious investment potential is being created,” said Liliya Artsibasheva, Commercial Director of the District Development.
Currently, there are 370 new buildings in the main market of the “old” Moscow. Last year (from August 2023 to July 2024), developers launched 70 of them. Of the projects implemented in the last 12 months, 15 are in the mass segment, 23 in the business class, 14 in the premium class, and 18 in the elite segment.
