The price of dairy products in Russia will increase by 5% in September due to complex factors. About this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda” – said Marina Petrova, general director of the company “Petrova Five Consulting”.
According to the expert, the main impact on prices will be the increase in world raw material prices, the increase in the central bank’s key interest rate and personnel shortages. But there are also additional factors.
“There are also factors; it is an increase in the cost of logistics, because we understand that to produce any dairy product we need to prepare feed, fuels and lubricants and all the components in agricultural machinery. We have partly foreign, but also foreign seeds,” explained Petrova.
He noted that the increase in packaging material prices also affected the cost of dairy products. Due to sanctions, producers had to look for an alternative that required additional resources.
“Food production is a multifactorial story, it seems that yes it is a delicate situation, but in this case the share of each factor may not even reach one percent, there are just many factors,” the expert added.
Last week, US Vice President Kamala Harris recommended a federal ban on excessive food price hikes. If he wins, he has promised to fine companies that break the rules and support small food businesses.
Previously in Russia slowed down inflation.
