Wildberries’ management philosophy was valid a year or two ago, but now needs to be revised. During an interview, RBC – said Robert Mirzoyan, general director of outdoor advertising operator Russ and general director of RVB LLC.
RVB LLC is the legal entity of the combined Russ and Wildberries. The merger of the two companies was announced in June 2024 and the deal was approved at the level of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation.
As Tatyana Bakalchuk, the head of Wildberries, said, the company’s management strategy at the beginning was “start-up”. Mirzoyan also said that this was true.
But, according to him, the management philosophy had to be revised due to the rather large influence of the market on the country’s economy. As the general director of RVB LLC said, this is now impossible to do “without systematic approaches to business processes.”
“Doubling the turnover does not mean that you have to build more warehouses, buy more machines, etc. To be able to serve 15 million products a day, this year it will be 30 million, God willing – this does not mean just hiring more people, we need to rebuild all the processes,” he emphasized.
Mirzoyan explained that simply increasing capacity without a normal management system will lead to the extinction of Wildberries. Moreover, this process has already begun.
Bakalchuk also noted that after the merger the market gained very strong resources and “top management”. He concluded that the merger was an impetus for the company’s further development.
