The head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavki Zavkizoda, said that the figure reached $970 million. According to the minister, in January-June 2024, the mutual trade volume exceeded $1.7 billion in 2023. The trade turnover between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation increased by 14.1% compared to the same period last year, reaching $970 million.
“Our trade turnover with Russia in 2023 exceeded $1.7 billion. Our cooperation with the Russian Federation has reached a new strategic level,” Zavkizoda said.
He emphasized that Russia is Tajikistan’s largest trade partner and the countries have productive interaction in all areas.
“The meetings of the intergovernmental commission are held annually to discuss issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation. We have no unresolved issues with the Russian Federation, both sides aim to raise bilateral trade turnover and investment indicators to a higher level, – the head of the Ministry of Economic Development said.
