Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger said that the country intends to get rid of dependence on Russia in the supply of fuel for its nuclear power plants. He told the newspaper Pravda.

“The government has been negotiating this issue with possible new suppliers for several months. “I don’t know how long this will take, but we intend to end this process,” he said.

Former Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio declarationDependence on Russian gas fell from 40 percent to 25 percent.

Prior to this, it was reported that the European Union has developed a series of urgent economic measures in case of a sudden possible interruption in the supply of Russian gas.

The measures include an information campaign to reduce the use of heating systems and reduce the switch to other types of fuel in industry and energy.

Offers can reduce the impact of a sudden interruption in fuel supply by one third. Currently, the Russian side supplies the EU with less than 30% of the average from 2016 to 2021.
