Most often, the cost of a summer vacation for Russians ranges from 30 thousand to 50 thousand rubles, as stated by 23.1% of Russians surveyed. At the same time, almost the same number of respondents (22.9%) stated that they need from 50 thousand to 100 thousand rubles. This is the result of a survey conducted by the online lending service Robot Borrower. socialbites.ca has its results.
Another 18.5 percent said they would spend between 10,000 and 30,000 rubles on their summer vacation, and 16.5 percent said they would spend more than 100,000 rubles. Finally, one in ten (12.3%) do not plan to go on vacation this summer, and 6.3% will fit into the minimum budget (up to 10,000 rubles).
Comparing their holiday expenses this year with last year, the majority of Russians (42.0%) said that summer holidays will become more expensive for them in 2024. At the same time, 22.4% will save on holidays this summer compared to last year, and one in five (21.1%) aims to spend the same amount as in 2023.
The survey respondents indicated that the main item of their holiday expenses is leisure and entertainment; one in three (31.3%) think so. Another 26.9% say that the most expensive ticket for their wallet is plane or train tickets, and one in four (23.6%) think that accommodation is the main expense of their summer vacation. However, only 7.1% plan to leave “some amount” for food on vacation. Also, 5.9% vacation on tourist packages. Finally, the country where the least amount of money is spent on shopping and buying souvenirs on vacation is only 3.7% among Russians.
More than half of those going on holiday this summer (56.4%) plan to use a credit card, borrow money from loved ones or take out a payday loan. Another 4.4% plan to take out a consumer loan. Meanwhile, a third (34.0%) will limit themselves to spending within their own funds and another 5.2% have not yet decided how expensive their holiday will be.
The study was conducted by surveying subscribers of the official community “Zaymer” on VKontakte in early July 2024. More than 1,500 people responded.
