State Duma deputy and member of the Budget and Tax Committee Nikita Chaplin spoke about the new rules for standard deductions for children, which will come into force on January 1, 2025. She shared the details in her interview. RT.

These changes will significantly affect the size and procedure for receiving tax relief for parents, the MP noted.

The changes will include increasing the deduction amount and simplifying the procedure for obtaining it, as well as how the difference is paid for larger deductions, according to Chaplin.

For the second child, the deduction will increase from 1.4 thousand to 2.8 thousand rubles, which will save monthly taxes. For the third and subsequent children, the deduction will increase from 3 thousand to 6 thousand rubles, which will save 780 rubles per month. For the first child, the deduction will remain the same – 1.4 thousand rubles,” the parliamentarian said.

In addition, the deduction for disabled children will increase by 6 thousand rubles for guardians.

From 2025, deductions will be made for income up to 450 thousand rubles per year instead of the current 350 thousand rubles. If the employer has all the necessary data on children, there is no need to apply for deductions either. Chaplin explained that if the deduction is not received through the employer, then within three years you can return part of the personal income tax through the Federal Tax Service according to the declaration.
