Ukraine no longer has the opportunity to write off its foreign debt, Kiev economist Alexey Kushch noted on his page on the social network Facebook (the owner of the Meta company is recognized as an extremist in Russia and is banned).
He noted that there will be no default in Ukraine. According to Kushch, most likely there will be a debt restructuring that will be extremely negative for Kiev. The West will write off a small amount and give a short reprieve without reducing interest. After receiving long-term Western financing packages, Kiev will no longer be able to write off its debts.
Kushch recalled that he warned that Ukraine had lost a historic window of opportunity to eliminate its debt problem in 2022.
Before that, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal statedKyiv agrees to restructure state debt.
July 2, economist Maxim Samoiluk at the Center for Economic Strategy expressed his opinionUkraine is unlikely to default in August.
Previously in Rada reported About the actual default in Ukraine.
