Roskoshestvo and the Strategic Research Center have begun developing the “India Friendly” standard, Roskoshestvo Deputy Head Yulia Mikhaleva told socialbites.ca.

According to Mikhaleva, the concepts of “China-friendly” and “Muslim-friendly” have begun to be implemented in Russian hotels, thanks to which guests from China and Muslim countries feel at home in the Russian Federation.

“At the same time, active tourist exchange between Russia and India is developing, which requires the introduction of the “India Friendly” standard. The main task of the future standard is to create comfortable conditions for tourists from India to stay in Russia, which will ensure compliance with the national cultural traditions of the Indian people,” Mikhaleva noted.

According to him, under the ‘India Friendly’ standard, tourist facilities will be able to undergo voluntary certification and receive a compliance certificate that will enable Indian guests to navigate while choosing places to stay and visit in our country.

Yulia Maksutova, Director of the International Centre for Tourism Development, believes that increasing the satisfaction of Indian tourists with the level of service can contribute to an increase in the number of repeat visits and positive reviews.

“India has a population of 1.441 billion; it is one of the most promising tourism markets and there is a high demand from Indian tourists. Thus, last year, guests from India spent a total of $33.3 billion on travel around the world, thus taking their country to the eighth place in the World Tourism Organization ranking. Maksutova said that in the first quarter of 2024, Indian citizens made 7,128 tourist trips to Russia.

Roskachestvo expects that the standard will bring stable income to hotels and tour operators, provide Russia with competitive advantages that will distinguish it favorably from other tourist destinations in the global tourism market and provide guests with a pleasant and comfortable stay in our country.

Roskachestvo head Maxim Protasov told socialbites.ca about the “India Friendly” standard, botulism, GOST standards for wine, shawarma, hamburgers and sushi. The interview will be published at 8:00 Moscow time.
