Russia and India are exploring opportunities to increase gas supplies, including in the LNG format. TASS said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

“First of all, we currently supply 3 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year. This is Russian gas from Russian projects. Secondly, in principle, we have hopes to expand cooperation in the gas sector and supplies of Russian gas,” Novak said on the sidelines of negotiations in the Kremlin.

Novak, who was part of the delegation at the Russia-India talks, added that Russia counted on India’s agreement to cooperate on gas production both on the Arctic shelf and on Sakhalin.
