Russia to increase excise duty on tobacco, cigars and cigarillos 18:57

Excise taxes on tobacco products in Russia will be adjusted for inflation in 2025-27. The government’s proposal was supported by the State Duma Budget and Tax Committee. TASS.

The publication notes that the amendment was prepared for the second reading of the bill on additional adjustment of the Russian tax system. It was introduced to the deputies by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Finance Alexey Sazanov.

From January 1 to December 31, 2025, the excise tax on pipe, cigarette, chewing, sucking, snuff and hookah tobacco (excluding raw materials for the production of tobacco products) will be 4,657 rubles per kilogram.

From January 1 to December 31, 2026, the excise tax will be 4,843 rubles per kilogram.

From January 1 to December 31, 2027 – 5037 rubles per kilogram.

Additionally, the excise tax on cigars, cigarillos, bidis and kreteks will be adjusted.
