Demand for black caviar increased in Russia 08:20

Purchases of sturgeon caviar in Russia for the 5.5 months of 2024 increased by 9% compared to the same period last year. This was reported by RBC with reference to data provided by analysts of the Check Index resource.

Compared to 2019 before the pandemic, consumer demand for this flavor was 6% higher.

“In addition to the number of purchases, the size of the boxes that consumers purchase more frequently has also doubled,” the message clarified.

In Russia in May started marking red and black caviar. As of April 25, more than 19 thousand participants in the trade, including 83 manufacturers and importers, were registered in the labeling system. In total, more than 264 thousand marking codes have been published in the country. According to the deputy general director of the operator of the labeling system “Honest Sign”, Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT) Revaz Yusupov, even before the introduction of mandatory requirements, more than 4.5 thousand caviar products were released into circulation, which can already be seen in Russian stores.
