“Rushimalliance” wins multimillion-dollar lawsuit against Unicredit Bank 12:46

The Russian court fully satisfied Rukhimalliance’s claim against Unicredit Bank for €448.2 million. Interfax referring to arbitration file data.

Ruskhimalliance demanded to recover from Unicredit the debt of 443.768 million euros and the penalty of 4.468 million euros of the engineering contractor Linde, which restricted all work in the Russian Federation in 2022 under the pretext of EU sanctions.

In addition to Unicredit, many other European credit institutions also acted as guarantor banks for Linde. All of them refused to fulfill their obligations to Rushimalliance for fear of violating the restrictions imposed on Russia.

As a result, the Russian company filed a lawsuit in court. Arbitration in May accepted Decision to recover €238 million from Deutsche Bank based on the Rukhimalliance claim. The other day the court was completely pleased Rukhimalliance’s claim against Commerzbank for damages in the amount of €94.92 million.
