Ilya Sutskever, scientific director and co-founder of OpenAI, which developed the ChatGPT chatbot, announced that he resigned from the organization. Wrote this on a social network X.

“After nearly ten years, I have decided to leave OpenAI,” the statement said. Sutskever promised to provide additional details about his new job soon.

OpenAI founder Sam Altman also confirmed on social media that Jakub Paczocki will replace Sutzkever as the company’s chief scientific officer.

OpenAI rose to prominence by creating the ChatGPT chatbot, which became popular immediately after its launch in late November 2022, attracting its first million users in less than a week. One of the co-founders of OpenAI in 2015 was American billionaire Elon Musk, who later cut ties with the company.
