Aeroflot submitted the report on the investigation into the incident at Bangkok airport to the Federal Air Transport Agency 20:16

Almost every unpleasant situation in aviation arises not from one specific cause, but from a combination of many factors. This was stated by aviation expert Ilya Shatilin, founder of the FrequentFlyers.ru portal, commenting on the incident with the death of a passenger on Aeroflot flight SU815 at Bangkok airport.

“In this case, the need to carry out works that require the installation of an air conditioning source based on outside heat and ground, the insufficient power of this source, the long absence of buses and the health condition. “There is no point in looking for a specific “switcher”, although Aeroflot quite rightly conducted an investigation in the future to exclude the factor of someone else’s negligence,” he noted.

Thus, in the examination carried out by Aeroflot, it was determined that the air conditioning system of the aircraft was in working order and it was seen that the preparation of the aircraft for flight was carried out in accordance with the requirements of FAP 128. At the same time, the Company emphasized that passenger services are carried out in strict accordance with FAP 82 and its operating standard.

“Unfortunately, the passenger cannot insure himself against such situations; If you know that your tolerance to heat is poor, the only solution is not to fly to hot countries. In any case, air transport remains the safest means of transportation, and, for example, more people die from electric shock in their own apartment every year than on airplanes. So not flying anywhere is not an option, and airlines have not yet learned how to control the weather,” Shatilin said.

Aeroflot announced that the investigation report containing all materials was transferred to the Federal Air Transport Agency.

“Maintaining comfortable conditions, including temperature, in the aircraft cabin is one of the mandatory elements of the standard of service that the airline provides and will continue to provide,” the company’s press service emphasized.

The report states that any company must take into account force majeure situations in its operations, which can significantly affect production processes.

“As the situation in Bangkok on an Aeroflot flight demonstrates, no airline is immune from short-term extreme temperature situations on an aircraft with a fully air-conditioning system during taxiing or parking,” the statement said.

It was noted that Aeroflot strengthened the interaction with ground services at all airports before the summer season as a precaution.
