Sber began recruiting environmental volunteers for team competitions on the theme of waste collection and classification – “Clean Games”, the bank’s press service reported. Sber will serve as the general partner of the Russian stage of the Eurasian Cleaning Cup competition.
It was noted that the competitions will be held in the parks, forests and coastal regions of the country between 20-29 April. Approximately 130 matches are expected to be played in Russia in the spring season.
As Sberbank’s Senior Vice President for ESG Tatyana Zavyalova said, the bank is supporting Clean Games for the third year in a row. According to him, Sber will also participate in the Arctic Cleanup Cup for the first time this summer.
“Environmental support for the northern regions is extremely important; According to the bank’s forecasts, one of the most important climate risks is linked to the threat of permafrost melting and the possible damage that disruption could cause, which is on the horizon in 2050, according to the latest data. “Expert data can reach 5 trillion rubles,” he said.
Zavyalova emphasized that expanding the geography of the tournament allowed more volunteers to participate.
It was noted that important events within the framework of the spring cup with the participation of Sber volunteers will be held in Astrakhan, Vologda, Krasnogorsk (Moscow region), Makhachkala, Omsk, Ufa and other cities. Participants in environmental competitions will be able to participate in creative master classes and exams with award-winning drawings from the “Saving Together” educational platform. In addition, with the support of Sber, a competition will be held to determine the most interesting finds discovered by the participants of the games. As the bank announced, the brightest will be included in the expert shortlist and the winner will be determined by online voting and receive a prize.
Sberbank said that everyone can take part in the championship and help clean up their territory. You just need to find your city in the list of games, register on the website and come to the specified place at the appointed time.
