Vladimir Todorov has been appointed as the producer of Okko’s documentary content, the company’s press service reported. He will combine work in this position with the positions of editor-in-chief of Lenta.ru and media development director of Rambler&Co.
It is stated that their upcoming projects will be a multi-part documentary film about the criminal world of the 90s and a documentary film about cybersecurity, complementing Yuri Bykov’s feature series “Dashing”.
According to Todorov, Okko’s documentary projects should be no less interesting to viewers than feature films and TV series. He believes that in order to do this, they need to withstand very serious competition in terms of storytelling and dramaturgy, as well as dynamics, visual components and depth of detailing.
“Our task in every project is to literally invent a new semantic and visual language. How and through what do we tell the story, what visual techniques do we use, how do we work with archives and characters. And here, of course, we cannot do without the most unusual and experimental techniques: from non-linear storytelling, artistic reconstructions and motion graphics to the active use of artificial intelligence tools,” said Okko’s producer of documentary content.
He stated that all of this will be used to ensure that every Okko documentary project becomes a meaningful event for the audience.
According to General Producer of Okko Gavriil Gordeev, online cinema users value original content most. He emphasized that viewers have a desire to expand their horizons and gain new information by watching.
“The documentary content here serves as useful entertainment that conveys experience and educates. “In addition, documentary content can complement the fiction by allowing viewers to learn more about the universe of the works,” he said.
