In 2023, the Russian Federation supplied the EU with 253 tonnes of enriched uranium worth €430 million, which is slightly less than a fifth (19%) of the uranium purchased by Europe in 2023. At the same time, in terms of purchasing volume, the UK ranked first, accounting for 28% of the trade, while the Netherlands ranked second with 20%.

It is also stated that EU countries purchased 1 ton of depleted uranium from Russia for 54 thousand euros.

The previous highest level was recorded in 2010 and was $1.05 billion. In absolute terms, Russia supplied 702 tonnes of uranium, compared to 588 tonnes the previous year. This is the highest value since 2013, when supply reached 982 tonnes.
