“People around the world have begun to appreciate the convenience, reliability and affordability of digital entertainment since the pandemic,” the financial institution said. At the same time, the average bill for paying for an online subscription decreased by 7% to 414 rubles.
The bank emphasized that modern digital content providers offer a variety of services at attractive prices, which only helps to increase the number of customers.
“When you purchase a subscription to one of the ecosystems, you can gain access to online cinemas, music platforms, loyalty systems and much more,” analysts said.
At the same time, the bank noted a sharp decline in Russians’ spending on traditional offline entertainment.
Thus, in the January-March period, the volume of theater ticket purchases decreased by 20% to 1.9 billion rubles, while the average bill increased by 7% to 689 rubles.
A similar situation developed during museum and exhibition visits; visits decreased by 10% to 90 million rubles, but at the same time the average ticket price increased by 9% to 418 rubles. The only exception was cinemas, whose revenue increased by 13% to RUB 2.5 billion.
