Russians have become more likely to suffer from illness at work. Today, almost half of employees are unable to take sick leave (41%). This is evidenced by the results of the Renaissance Insurance study, which socialbites.ca reviewed.

Many employees believe that their health and the number of days they spend on sick leave greatly impact their relationship with their employer. Additionally, 38% of participants stated that they were denied promotions due to health problems.

A significant portion of survey respondents indicated that management always (23%) or often (18%) expects a sick employee to be on call and continue to perform at least some duties from home. This answer was given mostly by employees of large companies.

40% of survey respondents received comments saying they “get sick too often” at least once. At the same time, men encounter such comments less often than women.

The vast majority of Russians of working age (70%) experienced deterioration in their health due to intense workload. The most common problems are back pain, blurred vision and headaches. One in nine people have experienced emotional burnout.
