Ukraine could soon receive a $900 million tranche from the IMF as part of a $15.6 billion loan. Bloomberg.

The transfer of funds is planned to coincide with the second anniversary of Russia’s operation in Ukraine. The IMF is Ukraine’s third-largest sponsor after the United States and the European Union and could come in second place in 2024 if the US Congress does not approve a promised $60 billion tranche.

Ukraine will receive a total of 5.4 billion dollars from the IMF in 2024.

According to Georgieva, Kiev won the support of the international community with its “extremely reasonable domestic actions.” Thus, Ukrainian authorities collected taxes on 36% of gross domestic product (GDP). Georgieva emphasized that many countries cannot achieve such results even in peacetime.
