Egg and chicken meat prices in Russia decreased by 1.8% in January compared to December 2023. This was reported by RIA News Referring to Rosstat data.

“The following prices fell (in January – Ed. note): chilled and frozen chickens (minus 2.5%), chicken eggs (minus 1.8%), buckwheat (minus 1.1%), pork (minus 0%, 7), chicken legs (minus 0.6%), granulated sugar, millet, local salmon caviar (minus 0.5%), coffee (minus 0.3%), black tea (minus 0.2%), sausages, sausages (minus 0.1%),” says Rosstat.

However, other product types also showed some growth: primarily sunflower oil (0.18%) and butter (1.78%), as well as cereals and legumes by 0.2%, pasta by 0.27%, and milk and dairy products by 0.27%. There was an increase of 0.75%.

Vegetable and fruit prices also appear to increase seasonally. The price of cucumber increased by 20.1% and the price of cabbage increased by 15.2%. Grapes became 13.6% more expensive and tomatoes became 10.6% more expensive. Meanwhile, the average cost of carrots increased by 9.1%, and the cost of beets and potatoes increased by 8.8% and 8% respectively.
