OMV concern states that Russian gas is not subject to EU sanctions 21:11

Austrian oil and gas company OMV stated that Russian gas is not subject to EU sanctions and that Austrian authorities should establish a legal basis to reject it. This was reported by RIA Newswith reference to the press service of the concern.

“Russian natural gas is not subject to sanctions in Europe and is imported from many countries,” the publication states.

According to company representatives, it is not possible to comment on possible financial losses at the moment, since contracts for gas supply are subject to confidentiality of both parties. At the same time, the concern complies with all imposed sanctions and laws and continues to diversify its sources of supply.

A while ago, German Energy Minister Leonore Gewessler statedAustrian authorities need to prepare a way out of contracts for the supply of Russian gas previously signed by the Austrian oil and gas company OMV.

Formerly Austrian OMV Purchased Gazprom has twice as much gas as a year ago.
