The European Union plans to allocate the first tranche of its 50 billion Euro aid package to Ukraine in March this year. This was announced by the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on her social network page. X.

According to Leyen, the agreement of EU members to provide this amount to Ukraine was an important step forward.

The EC president stressed that Europe has kept its word and will continue to provide critically needed financing to its partner and future EU member.

“We plan to start payments in March,” von der Leyen wrote.
