Polish Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Michal Kolodziejczak said that the country should stop importing raspberries from Ukraine due to the frequent presence of mold on the fruits. This was reported by RIA News.

“After such raspberries there can be only one outcome: an embargo on Ukrainian frozen raspberries, of which more than 60 thousand tons reach Poland in 2023,” Kolodziejczak wrote, attaching a photo of moldy raspberries.

Before that, Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czeslaw Sekierski stated About the need to reduce the flow of fruit from Ukraine. Şekersky noted that Europe’s agricultural policy is very open to agricultural products from Ukraine, which forces farmers in different countries to organize protests. He emphasized that agricultural workers expect the unified EU policy in this area to be simplified.

In this context, the minister called for “cutting off the flow of fruit” from Ukraine, which he thinks will allow Polish fruit growing specialists to increase their profits. Sekersky also promised to analyze the EU project on expanding trade measures on imports from Ukraine.
