American automobile manufacturer Tesla will hold an urgent shareholder vote on changing the company’s registration place from Delaware to Texas. This was announced by the company’s CEO Elon Musk on the social network. X (formerly Twitter).
The billionaire conducted a poll on X, where 87.1% of respondents supported the idea of re-registering Tesla in Texas and moving its headquarters there.
This week, the Delaware District Court decided It decided to annul the decision of Tesla’s board of directors, which agreed to pay Elon Musk $55.8 billion as a bonus in return for company leadership in 2018.
Judge Kathleen McCormick said the board questioned whether the costs were necessary for Tesla to help Musk achieve his goals.
Musk responded to the court’s decision with a post on X in which he warned readers against registering their companies in the state of Delaware.
