Lawyer Dmitry Grigoriev explained how popular Russian bloggers avoid paying taxes and what consequences this can lead to. The newspaper quotes his words “News”.
According to the lawyer, some unscrupulous bloggers with income of hundreds of millions of rubles are opening several small companies, among which there is a simplified preferential taxation system in which income is distributed and the tax rate is significantly reduced.
“If they register without VAT, they save 18% of their income,” Grigoriev explained.
The lawyer warned that such fraud is subject to criminal liability, including imprisonment.
“They save a lot of money, in general the turnover is quite large, hundreds of millions of rubles,” the expert concluded.
Russian government in November finalized Draft law on amending the Tax Law. These were designed to close a number of tax evasion loopholes, particularly to tighten control over pricing in transactions between interdependent companies.
Formerly Financial Intelligence, Federal Tax Service and Central Bank clarified “Restaurant” tax evasion scheme worth ₽100 billion a year.
