Finnish customs announced that they are banning individuals from importing fuel from Russia.

Finland banned natural persons from petroleum products from Russia. It was stated DEA News” Finnish Customs representative, Tuula Lähderinne.

“As a result of EU sanctions imposed on Russia on June 4, 2022, direct or indirect purchase, import or transfer of petroleum products from or to Russia is prohibited. That’s why, at the moment, fuel from Russia can only be imported in a conventional fuel tank of a car,” he said.

It also announced that importing fuel in drums or other containers is prohibited.

It is stated that Finland has the longest land border with Russia in the European Union and “gasoline” tourism is common in border regions where motor fuel prices were low in the Russian Federation before the coronavirus pandemic.

Previously, residents of Lithuania more and more people are traveling to Belarus for cheap fuel and other goods, including cigarettes. Economists interviewed believe that because of this, Lithuania is deprived of some of the taxes and that “the money goes to the budget of the country that supports the Kremlin.”
