Almost half (40%) of Russians surveyed are confident that IT specialists can find a job without any problems. In terms of successful career development, Russians ranked drivers and couriers in second place with 31%, and sales managers in third place with 28%. This follows from a survey conducted by the recruitment company hh.ru, the results of which were received by socialbites.ca editors.
Residents of the Novosibirsk region are most likely to believe that IT specialists will have a successful career – 61% of respondents, and residents of the Moscow region least – only 21%. St. Residents of St. Petersburg took third place – 59% of respondents here are sure that it is easiest for IT specialists to find a job in their city.
“Representatives of the IT industry are far from being so optimistic. In the survey, only a third (33%) stated that it was easier for them to build a high-paying career than for others. 54% of his colleagues disagree. In this case, the perception of people in the profession is close to reality. This confirms the level of competition, especially in the IT industry. So currently there are 7.5 resumes per vacancy in this field throughout the country,” said Maria Ignatova, head of research service hh.ru.
In the context of certain IT professions, the situation is even more complex, he says. For example, for one open position there are 52 resumes for a game designer, 24 for a data scientist, 15 for a data analyst, and 11 for a tester. For comparison: the level of competition in the field of employee personnel is many times lower – 1.9 resumes per vacancy, and the demand from companies is much higher.
According to Ignatova, the income of IT specialists in 2021 grew quite actively and was able to reach above-market indicators even in junior positions, but the average salary currently offered in the IT sector throughout the country is about 63 thousand rubles and no strong dynamics are observed there.
“The average salary in the field of labor personnel is already over 64 thousand rubles, and it continues to increase, in construction – more than 66 thousand rubles, in the field of transport and delivery – almost 72 thousand rubles. So, wages are growing significantly faster in segments of the labor market where personnel shortages are high,” says Maria Ignatova, head of research service hh.ru.
29% of respondents stated that finding high salaries in their city is most difficult for educators and teachers. Doctors, paramedics and assistant medical personnel are close to them in the ranking with 26%.
The survey was conducted between 4 December and 25 December 2023 among 1.5 thousand Russians.
Previously happened It is known how often Russians choose a career under pressure from their parents.
