Trade turnover between Russia and Brazil reached the highest level in modern history

The trade turnover between the Russian Federation and Brazil increased by 1.8 times for the first time in December 2023, reaching 1.6 billion dollars in monetary terms. This is evidenced by data from the Brazilian statistical service, reports RIA News.

According to the agency, during the specified period, the Latin American country purchased products worth $ 1.5 billion from Moscow, and, as emphasized in the material, this figure was the largest in the entire modern history of bilateral relations.

At the same time, it turned out that the main import product was oil products, for which Brazil paid 1.14 billion dollars. In general, the Russian Federation exported 1.5 thousand tons of oil products to the Latin American country, becoming its largest supplier.

The USA and the Netherlands took the second and third places in the relevant ranking. Washington supplied 413.5 thousand tons of oil products to Brazil and 108.6 thousand tons to Amsterdam.

Also last December, the Latin American country actively purchased Russian fertilizer and steel. The import structure also includes iron and uranium, the publication says.

In turn, the Russian Federation reduced the supply of Brazilian goods by 17% and spent only $ 63.6 million for these purposes. According to the agency, Moscow mainly purchased meat and coffee.
