The flow of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from European terminals into the EU gas transmission system fell to 310 million cubic metres. This was reported by RIA News With reference to data from the association of gas infrastructure operators in Europe (Gas Infrastructure Europe, GIE).
It was noted that the flow decreased to 311.1 million cubic meters on January 5, from 319 million cubic meters the previous day.
It is also emphasized that electricity production from wind in the European Union decreased for the third day in a row and reached its minimum level in mid-December. As of January 6, it accounted for 16.8% of total volume.
Before reportedLegislative decisions stating that Finland may ban the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia as of the beginning of 2025 will be prepared this year. Finnish state company Gasum continues to import LNG from Russia. The company explains this with contractual obligations. The company has a long-term purchase agreement with the Russian company Gazprom.
Previously European Commission announced about plans to abandon Russian gas by the end of the decade.
