As of January 1, those who want to rent housing to tourists for less than 100 days in Turkey must obtain an appropriate license. The government newspaper reported this Official newspaper.

We are talking about a license obtained from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. If the landlord does not have the necessary documents before concluding a contract with the tenant, he will face a fine of 100 thousand lira (from $ 3.3 thousand to $ 35.3 thousand).

Signs with the qualifications determined by the ministry will be hung in licensed rental houses. License and banner issuing fees will be determined by the ministry.

If the house rented to tourists is an apartment, the consent of all owners of the floors in this building must be submitted to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in order to obtain permission.

It was noted that for each house rented, landlords will be given 15 days to operate according to the permission received. If the citizen continues to rent places to tourists at the end of the specified period, the penalty will increase to 500 thousand lira (16.4 thousand dollars) and an additional 15 days will be given to operate with permission.

Those who continue to provide tourism services without permission after the second 15 days have expired will be given an administrative fine of 1 million lira (35.3 thousand dollars).
