Gazprom broke the record in gas supply to China

Gazprom on Saturday set a new historical record for daily gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. In this respect reported company press service.

Gazprom noted that the Russian company fully fulfilled the Chinese side’s request for gas supply, which in volume exceeded its daily contractual obligations. The supplies are carried out under a long-term contract between Gazprom and CNPC. The previous record for daily shipments was recorded on December 16, as demand from China increased.

Russia exported 15.5 billion cubic meters of gas to China in 2023 through the Power of Siberia. The planned supply level of 22 billion cubic meters is expected to be exceeded this year.

Gazprom’s chairman Alexey Miller previously declarationthat Russia’s gas exports to China may increase to 48 billion cubic meters per year in the coming years. The possibility of increasing the supply beyond the design capacity of 38 billion cubic meters through the Power of Siberia is also being evaluated.
