Polish state oil and gas company Orlen SA has filed a lawsuit against the American company Venture Global on charges of breaking a long-term contract for the supply of liquefied natural gas. The agency reports that Bloomberg.

“Orlen wants Venture Global to immediately begin supplying LNG under the contract,” he said in the release.

In contrast, American Venture Global believes that deliveries under long-term contracts should begin only at the end of 2024. And to date, gas has not been sent to consumers “due to operational problems at the initial stage of investment.”

Other European companies, including major players such as Shell and BP, have previously made similar claims against the American supplier.

After cutting ties with Russia, Poland signed numerous LNG supply contracts with the United States and other global suppliers. But not all of this is carried out on time, and therefore the required volumes have to be purchased on the spot market, which costs approximately twice as much.
