In the period from December 12 to December 18, 2023, inflation in Russia decreased to 0.18% compared to 0.2% in the previous week. This was reported by the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).
The report states that “in the period between December 12 and December 18, 2023, the consumer price index was 100.18%.”
According to Rosstat, consumer prices in the country have increased by 0.45% since December and 7.12% since the beginning of this year.
There was also an increase in the prices of chicken eggs (4.6%), fruits and vegetables (2.1%) and toilet paper (0.6%) during the reporting period. At the same time, the cost of chicken meat (0.6%), sugar (0.5%), buckwheat (0.3%) and economy class air travel (1.3%) fell.
According to the ministry’s statistics, annual inflation in Russia was 7.23%.
