Western countries are trying to prevent Russia from joining the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN (United Nations) Dmitry Polyansky in this regard Wrote on your Telegram channel.

According to him, this week the UN voted 54 ECOSOC members for the period 2023, 2024 and 2025. He stressed that Russia has been elected to the council continuously since 1945, when the USSR was founded until 1991. He said that after the first round of secret balloting, Russia won 118 of the 128 required votes – 2/3 of those present and voting. As a result, North Macedonia competed with the Russian side.
