Russia has become one of India’s important trading partners, providing more than a third of its imports of mineral fertilizers and diamonds, according to Alipov.
“We maintain a leading position in the supply of hydrocarbon raw materials,” the ambassador said.
Before that, the Russian diplomatic mission in New Delhi reported a record bilateral trade turnover ($48.8 billion) for 9 months. For comparison, for the whole of 2022, this figure was $39 billion.
Late last week, Russia augmented India’s foreign debt increased to 777 million dollars. Thus, India became the only foreign creditor to increase the foreign debt of the Russian Federation in 2022. At the same time, the Russian Federation’s debt to South Korea decreased by 24 percent to 209.8 million dollars, and its debt to France decreased by 1.8 times to 177.8 million dollars.
