At the end of November this year, the volume of the National Welfare Fund (NWF) decreased by 108 billion rubles, reported On the website of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. This figure reached 13.432 trillion rubles projected for 2023, or 9% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).
While as of December 1, 2023, the size of the National Welfare Fund was 151.129 billion dollars, as of November 1, it reached 13 trillion 541.2 billion rubles (equivalent to 145.224 billion dollars), that is, 9% of GDP.
According to the Ministry, the volume of liquid assets of the fund (funds in bank accounts at the Bank of Russia). As of December 1, this figure amounts to 6.747 trillion rubles, or $75.902 billion, which is 4.5% of the projected GDP for this year.
In November, the volume of euros in the National Welfare Fund structure decreased from 3.667 billion to 3.269 billion. In addition, as of December 1, 279.774 billion Chinese yuan, 508.265 tons of gold and 1.188 billion rubles were deposited in the accounts.
This is the second decrease in the volume of the National Welfare Fund in recent years – the figure in October decreased 107 billion rubles.
